| Meeting skills shortages is an imperative if Australian manufacturing is to become competitive in the global market. Innovative training and workplace practices are vital factors in addressing this issue. MITUP creates a mutually beneficial partnership between TAFE and industry which will provide manufacturing enterprises the opportunity to access high level educational experience on their own site. Industry will identify projects which will benefit from the educational expertise of TAFE teachers. TAFE Institutes will work closely with you and your team to ensure that the project produces a “win win” solution for both partners. |

What is the MITUP Project?

The Manufacturing Industry Teacher Upskill Project is a practical approach to up-skilling TAFE teachers from within manufacturing workshops and on-site experience. The cost of any teacher release to industry is to be met by the teacher's institute. Students may apply through a Teacher. TAFE teachers and students can engage with industry through Research and Development projects hosted in a manufacturing workshop. Through working with TAFE training providers Manufacturing Companies can provide a stronger more relevant input into the development of training by transfer of updated technological skills and technological solutions. In addition Manufacturing companies will be able to access valuable education and training skills and resources in TAFE Institutes. |
